The Gondolas
Installation. 6 virgin vinyl record 45 rpm, 7 inches, 6 black covers (18x18 cm), 24 c-type prints, 10x15 cm.
The project consists in sending from Paris a virgin vinyl record 45 rpm, 7 inches, inside a black cover, to different parts of the world to be displaced during a period of 6-7 months (Feb/Mar. 2011 - Sep/Oct. 2011) in the back side of a car - the area between the back seat and the glass. During that time, the record will be exposed to the rhythm of daily life of the place and the person who uses the car: it will get dust, sunlight, humidity and will be scratched, bended or broken. NY (Rose Kallal), Nantes (Régis Perray), São Paulo (Ronaldo Miranda), Lisbon (Alexandre Estrela), Kœln/Berlin (Jorge Boucas) and Milan (Filipa Ramos) are the hosting cities.
